Findings & experiences

We are proud to be part of a European Erasmus + project and would like to share our findings and experiences. We believe that sharing is multiplying and we’d like to inspire others. We will tell you more about our project and its advancements.

About the project

Train Sustain aims to professionalize Trainers of disadvantaged citizens in creating sustainable jobs. We give trainers guidance in training citizens with learning difficulties or mental challenges, on how to repair, renovate and restore used items. In this way, we help promote green business opportunities while supporting the employability of vulnerable participants as they are equipped with the proper knowledge on how to enter or re-enter the labor market.

 Transnational Project Meeting in Paris

On 9th and 10th October 2023, the Solution partners welcomed the consortium to Paris for two days of meetings.

This time was used to finalize the project's first two outputs, which are the “Train-sustain curriculum for VET-teachers and volunteer trainers working with disadvantaged groups” and the “Handbook on how to teach the curriculum to future teacher and volunteer trainers”. We also worked on the final stages of the project, in particular the Compendium of Best Practices and layout of the project website. We also visited La petite Rockette, a non-profit organization that sells second-hand objects and clothing, as well as a solidarity canteen.

Pilot sessions organized by each partner

Each partner organizes pilot sessions to test our project results with trainers and learners.

  • Solution organized one session with teachers to train them on the curriculum, and two sessions with learners to introduce them to the manual and get them to take part in an activity proposed in the manual on glass recycling.

  • DINAMO organized one session with teachers and one with students in October and November during their monthly Repair Café. The trainers and trainees got to look at the curriculum and handbook and participated in some interesting workshops about sustainability.

  • Skejby Rangers facilitated an upcycling Workshop at Haldor in Aarhus, Denmark at the end of September. The event was in cooperation with other green actors like Kirkens Korshær and Kaffé Fair. We had an exciting upcycling event, where people had the opportunity to educate themselves by learning about different types of upcycling projects like repairing electronics, crafts like sewing and baking with leftovers. The baking workshop was especially well visited!

See you soon everyone.
